Sophie & Danica had their wedding day at Dorlands, a country house with a barn and stunning views of the Usk Valley, in August 2021. They had their ceremony in the Barn, decorated in a lovely rustic theme with a touch of Harry Potter too!
They chose to book Package One meaning I would be arriving for bridal prep and staying late into the evening not long after their first dance, no matter what the timings were. They also had a pre-wedding photoshoot included which they chose to have at the fields where their horses were kept, these make for a great opportunity to have family or pet photography whilst getting to know each other and easing any nerves in time for the big day.
When I arrived there were lots of people there already as they had chosen to stay the night before at Dorlands (and also were the night after), Danica was getting her hair and make-up done in the downstairs area of the house whilst Sophie was staying well away upstairs so as not to spoil the surprise. I got lots of photos of all the details of their ceremony room and Danica's jewellery and amazing cowboy boots.
Among their guests were four dogs, one of which was Monty who was part of the bridal party in a gorgeous little suit!
It was soon time for the ceremony in the Barn, where Monty the dog was waiting for his owners to greet him at the altar. Sophie came in first, holding hands with her Mum followed by the bridesmaids and flower girls and then finally in walked Danica, arm in arm with her Dad.
Lots of smiles and loving looks were captured as well as the important moments from the ceremony soon followed by confetti and group photos.
I then walked Sophie & Danica around the venue a little to get some lovely photos of the newlyweds together, with some assistance from one of the bridesmaids to hold my flash for me!
As the day went on I captured the speeches, cutting of the cake and the first dance plus many natural photos of the guests enjoying themselves and having a laugh at some of the jokes in the speeches!
