St. Andrew's Church|Gloucester Wedding Photography
Lucy & Ashley
As a South Wales wedding photographer, I'm not based far from places such as Gloucester, Bristol and Somerset so I'll gladly cover these areas! I include 50 miles within your wedding photography price.
I attended this wedding to shoot only their ceremony due to Covid-19. I was originally booked to capture their ceremony until the end of their wedding day just after their first dance as part of my Flexible Package, named so due to my flexible timings. I will stay for the moments you've asked for and won't charge extra or leave if we go over timings like other photographers might do! I also offer full day photography packages, which are from bridal prep up to the evening party no matter what your timings may be. I include a wedding album in every package and this couple received just that! An 8x8" album is included as standard in the Flexible Package so that you can preserve your memories forever. They will also receive another one the following year when I capture their full wedding day where they'll receive a wedding blessing and will celebrate with all of their loved ones.
Founded in 1904, as a daughter church to St. Bartholomew's (situated on the top of Chosen Hill), is St. Andrew's Church, which was built to enable easier access to worship for the growing population in the early 20th century. It is a beautiful looking church featuring some fascinating stained glass windows that illustrate people and incidents from the past of Churchdown, including a window that honours two soldiers who died in WWI. There is also a lovely war memorial in the grounds of the church which was important to have featured in this couple's photos as Ashley was proud to work in the RAF.
As Lucy & Ashley had originally booked me for 7+ hours for their wedding day, they had a pre-wedding photoshoot included too! We'd decided to have the shoot on Chosen Hill around St. Bartholomew's Church as they had intended to get married there but due to it being so difficult to access they changed it to St. Andrew's.
These shoots are a great way of getting to know each other before your big day so we're not complete strangers! I can find out how comfortable you both are with showing affection in public and you can see how I work. This can also take away one of the stresses of your wedding day by easing your nerves around having your photos taken!
Despite me only being at Lucy & Ashley's wedding for a short time, I made to sure to capture as much of the details as I could and to catch some natural photos of the couple and their guests as well as the most important parts of the ceremony plus group photos and some lovely ones of the newlyweds. My style of bright and colourful wedding photography was something that appealed to Lucy & Ashley as you'll see their colour scheme was very vibrant!
